Our choir family is always open to new members who are passionate about singing and interested in learning new Bulgarian singing techniques. Most of our choir members are not professional singers, but they are always working on further expanding their musical abilities.
If you are enthusiastic about this type of music or would like to develop musically, you are welcome to come to a trial rehearsal and see if Bulgarian choral music is right for you.
Feel free to drop us a note, and we’ll arrange a trial rehearsal. As a new singer, you will start in our mixed choir, BulCanto. During the first introductory meeting, you will meet and sing with the conductor before the actual rehearsal. This is not an entrance exam! The goal is rather to determine your vocal range and singing experience. You will receive feedback on your strengths, your placement in the choir, and areas for improvement.
After the trial rehearsal, you can decide whether you’d like to stay in the choir and attend rehearsals regularly. If you wish to continue, you should officially join the association by submitting a membership application. You will receive the form at the end of your first rehearsal. Membership requires a monthly contribution of 30 €.
Depending on your musical development, potential, interest, and regularity, the conductor may invite you to join the Bulgarian Voices Berlin choir, where the focus is solely on traditional Bulgarian music—authentic and arranged songs, complex harmonies, and special singing techniques.
